We know that working together is the only way we can achieve what is necessary for a healthier future.      About the role    Our Lived Experience Workforce (LEW) is a non-clinical team that operates across various clinical settings, including Crisis Assessment Treatment Teams, Acute Inpatient Units, Emergency Departments, Community Teams, and Rehabilitation Services within our Mental Health & Wellbeing Program.    An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Consumer Peer Support Worker to take up a role within Eastern Health’s Access Team  The Lived Experience Consumer Peer Support Worker in the Access Mental Health Service plays a vital role in providing support, guidance and empathy to individuals seeking care. With their lived experience, a Lived Experience Peer Support Worker brings a unique perspective and understanding to their interactions with individuals, their families/carers and the Access team. This role requires independent and autonomous work practice.      About you    To be successful in this role you will possess:  Lived experience as someone who has accessed public mental health services  Demonstrated ability to work systemically with internal and external services and staff to benefit consumers,  carers and families.  A strong commitment to high quality care  The ability to work as part of a diverse team  Excellent communication and organisational skills    Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
