We are currently looking for a Senior Container Cleaning Officer who will be responsible for ensuring all containers are maintained and cleaned to an acceptable and efficient standard. Job Description Based in our Apia, Samoa office and reporting to the Shared Services Manager of PFL, you will be overseeing the container cleaning team to ensure operational efficiency, including conducting toolbox meetings and training on Health & Safety procedures. You will also: Supervise the cleaning of both empty and full containers to NZ/AUS MPI requirements and standards. Tally empty containers received for cleaning and arrange delivery to wharf or for export. Ensure that safety requirements and the correct procedures are followed by staff every time for the chemical spraying and the cleaning of containers - particularly when working on top of containers. Ensuring that the team are always wearing the correct and minimum PPE Gear. Oversee including waterblasters and heavy machinery. Immediately investigate any non-compliance. Report and take photos of damaged containers received at the yard for agreed principles. Assist with the monthly stocktake of cleaning chemicals & monitor to ensure sufficient supplies. Ensure Weekly/monthly baiting is carried out at port Be trained and fully understand, the correct SCHS work procedures - ensuring these are followed consistently by the team. Carry out internal audits on processes, procedures and containers at least once a month. Any other duties as required. Qualifications Here’s what you’ll bring to the table: A high level of honesty, integrity, respect and collaboration. At least 3 years secondary schooling. Experience using Microsoft office suite products such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook. A strong commitment to Health, Safety & Wellbeing and a safety conscious approach. Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously. Strong leadership ability and administrative skills. Pro-activity and the ability to accept responsibility. This is a multi-faceted role where you will be overseeing a small team to make sure our container cleaning operations are running smoothly. You will have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to lead a team to success! All applicants must have the right to live and work in Samoa at the time of applying.
