Corrections Victoria is part of the Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and supports the Minister for Corrections. CJS also comprises Justice Health (which manages health services in adult and youth custodial facilities); Policy, Strategy and Service Design; Group Services and Coordination; and Justice Services (which includes Community Correctional Services and other justice programs). CJS plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.

Our mission is to create a safer, smarter corrections system with a skilled and supported workforce, that enables people in our care to make better decisions. Corrections Victoria operates Victoria’s adult prison system, seeking to provide safe and secure containment for people in custody and an environment and programs and services that support rehabilitation. Corrections Victoria aims to achieve its vision by providing best practice interventions that aim to reduce the risk of reoffending, including case management informed by sound risk assessment, offence specific and offence related programs, and transition and reintegration supports.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, Continuous Improvement within the Custodial Operations Division, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to enhance operations and safety within prisons. In this role, you will work closely with prisons to lead and support them through change and continuous improvement activities and projects that contribute to safer prisons. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of initiatives and projects aimed at improving custodial operations across the state, and in doing so, you will be required to interpret and work within a complex operating and legislative environment to develop high quality frameworks, policies and reports to enhance custodial operational outcomes for the workforce and people in custody.
