Responsibilities
  • Lead Contract Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of multiple high-value and/or highly complex government contracts, from proposal development through contract execution, performance monitoring, and closeout. Ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations (FAR, DFARS), client requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Contract Negotiation and Modification: Lead complex contract negotiations, including but not limited to contract terms, pricing, schedules, and performance metrics. Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as legal, finance, and project teams to finalize contract terms and resolve any potential issues.
  • Strategic Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the entire contract portfolio, including financial, schedule, and performance risks. Develop and implement strategies to proactively address contract challenges and ensure project success.
  • Policy and Process Leadership: Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and enforcement of contract management policies and best practices across the organization. Ensure that all contracts are structured in compliance with federal regulations and company procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as program managers, legal, finance, procurement, and other departments to ensure alignment between contract terms and program goals. Act as a strategic partner for program teams and senior leadership in addressing contract-related issues.
  • Subcontract Management: Oversee the management of subcontracts and ensure that all subcontractors comply with contractual obligations, performance standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead the negotiation of complex subcontracts, including terms and conditions, pricing, and schedules.
  • Compliance and Audits: Ensure that all contracts are in full compliance with relevant regulations, including FAR, DFARS, and company policies. Lead internal and external audits and reviews, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Contract Closeout and Final Payment: Oversee the contract closeout process, ensuring all deliverables have been met and final payments processed. Ensure that all contractual obligations are completed, and necessary documentation is filed in accordance with government regulations.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level contract administrators, helping them grow professionally and develop their skills in government contracting. Provide training on compliance, negotiation, and contract management best practices.
  • Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for government clients and key subcontractors regarding contract matters. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of contracts
