Description

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivering high-level instrumentation and control engineering activities across multiple brownfield projects
  • Defining scopes and coordinating detailed technical studies
  • Reviewing engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation
  • Developing and reviewing P&IDs, control narratives, logic diagrams, functional block diagrams and instrument datasheets
  • Working with contractors, consultants and OEM suppliers to develop effective instrumentation and control solutions
  • Providing technical input into plant layouts and ensuring instrumentation requirements are appropriately considered
  • Supporting project estimates and engineering planning
  • Providing daily supervision and technical direction to engineers, designers and project resources
  • Reviewing contractor deliverables and verifying compliance with relevant technical requirements
  • Supporting Functional Safety requirements and verification activities
  • Contributing to cybersecurity requirements across control and instrumentation systems
  • Coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and project delivery teams

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of post-qualification design experience in control, instrumentation and communications engineering
  • Strong instrumentation engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience delivering brownfield modifications
  • Experience within minerals processing / processing plant environments highly regarded
  • Experience with Functional Safety and relevant IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 requirements
  • Experience with cybersecurity and IEC 62443 highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of Australian and international engineering standards and best practice
  • Experience coordinating and reviewing contractor/consultant engineering work
  • Previous technical leadership, supervision or project lead experience
  • Experience mentoring and providing direction to junior engineers and designers
  • An Electrical Engineering or Control & Instrumentation Engineering degree
