The Group CIO Chief Control Office (GCIO CCO) is pivotal in ensuring HSBC operates within its risk tolerances and appetite by embedding effective risk and control management across GCIO. As a leader within the GCIO CCO Function, you will support the Governance & Frameworks team, taking accountability for GCIO Risk Management to achieve strategic outcomes for HSBC while maintaining resilience and security. In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team and will be primarily responsible for leading the reporting of our risk and control profile clearly and accurately into senior forums, committees and regulatory submissions. In this role, you will: Develop board committee and regulatory materials that clearly communicate GCIO’s risk posture. Brief senior leaders in the GCIO CCO area on governance matters and materials. Collate and share papers, updates, and meeting materials. Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including logistics and timing of risk management forums. Respond to requests for information on risk and control matters in GCIO. Lead discussions with 1LoD and 2LoD teams on reviews and challenges of residual risk decisions. Conduct internal and external research. Review governance papers up to Board level. Review meeting packs for governance forums. Establish, review, and maintain forum terms of reference. Support the delivery of monthly working groups. Promote continuous improvement through trend analysis, insights, and challenging inefficient practices. To be successful in this role you should have the following skills: Technical: Executive and Board level report writing and presentation. Governance and Assurance within Technology and Data environment. Preparation and facilitation of formal governance meetings. Constructing submission documents into formal governance. Writing governance papers up to board level. Identifying governance control gaps. Driving change through governance. Stakeholder management. Non-Financial Risk framework, ideally Technology risk management, governance, and frameworks. Behavioural Skills: Analytical and outcome-oriented problem solver. Effective time management.
