About the role
Senior Controls & Commissioning Engineer
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls & Commissioning Engineer to lead the technical delivery and commissioning of cutting-edge Hybrid Microgrid Energy Systems (HES). This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic engineering team driving innovation in renewable energy and embedded generation.
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the design, integration, and commissioning of control systems across major commercial and industrial energy projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, vendors, and site teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of microgrid solutions.

About the role:

  • Lead the development and implementation of control systems, SCADA, and communications standards
  • Review and validate vendor designs, specifications, and testing documentation
  • Coordinate commissioning activities including energization plans, ITPs/ITCs, and HV equipment safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert guidance during commissioning
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-project reviews

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in control systems design, development, and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, protection schemes, and embedded generation
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams

Desirable:

  • Industry accreditations and certifications
  • Experience with major renewables OEMs or EPCs
