Requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE

A fast-growing climate-tech startup is developing a hardware plugin that injects hydrogen into shipping container ship engines, boosting energy efficiency by 30%. It’s a major sustainability initiative with strong ROI and they’re ready to hire now.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead firmware and control systems development for hydrogen injection in combustion engines.
  • Create real-time control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink and generate C code.
  • Integrate and configure ECUs, sensors, and actuators.
  • Debug communication via CAN J1939, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet.
  • Calibrate ECU parameters in real-time with tools like ETAS INCA or CANape.
  • Collaborate closely with combustion engineers for seamless hardware-software integration.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in control systems development.
  • 3+ years working with engines, fuel injection systems, or turbine systems.
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Embedded Coder, ECUs, microcontrollers, and RTOS.
  • Strong debugging, integration, and calibration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with diesel engines (2- and 4-stroke).
  • Background in maritime or automotive embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of hydrogen fuel systems or hybrid technology.
