SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

With safety being top priority, the control technician will be responsible for the installation, service and maintaining HVAC controls components and equipment including: HVAC control devices, low voltage wiring, conduit & terminations, control computing hardware and/or software and related infrastructure elements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, Related Associates degree or equivalent from a Technical/Trade school or 2 years related experience in construction and/or low voltage installation, IT & TCP/IP experience is highly desirable. Tridium experience preferred. Requires minimum 4 years HVAC controls experience . Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED:

SPECIFIC PROGRAMS AND/OR SKILLS:

Specialty software training provided upon hire.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in written form. Ability to respond to questions person to person, small group, and public situations with customers and other employees of the organization.

  • Follows blueprints and/or engineering specifications to install, troubleshoot and maintain control systems infrastructure software and equipment.
  • Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
  • Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering diagnostic data and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
  • Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear and/or damage.
  • Represents the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, distinguish color wires and bend frequently.
  • Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration; and maintain files.
  • Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
