POSITION SUMMARY:

The position will be responsible for the day to day analysis of financial information and preparation of financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization. This position requires knowledge of general accounting duties including experience in GAAP reporting, accruals, monthly financial statements and budgets. The position requires the Senior Accountant to prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform the full accrual, month-end close procedures
  • Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, capitalized software and other intangible assets, debt and intercompany accounts
  • Perform and review general ledger and bank statement reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Coordinate with the Accounts Payable Process for proper accrual and reporting
  • Assist with preparation and analysis of financial information, including budget reports, financial statements, and required supplementary information
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial consolidated statement reporting process to executive management, ownership group, and bank reporting
  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc monthly and annual accounting reports and analysis
  • Maintain documentation on existing accounting processes and procedures and propose improvements as deemed necessary
  • Assist in the annual audit process
  • Assist in cash flow planning

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Accounting is required
  • Recent experience with NetSuite accounting software packages is advantageous
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to team well with other departments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Must have advanced experience working with Microsoft Office 7 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • General knowledge of confidential data and financial information management processes
