Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join its Legal Team in Geneva, Switzerland .
The attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of commercial and other legal matters in Switzerland and across the globe. This role is a part of Caterpillar’s legal team in Geneva and reports to the Associate General Counsel – Caterpillar Sarl. The successful applicant will serve as a trusted advisor to the business units and corporate functions teams at Caterpillar Sarl. DEGREE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Swiss law degree and/or French law degree;
• Minimum 10 years of law firm and/or in-house experience on Swiss and/or French legal matters;
• Rich experience in transactions, legal agreements, litigation, compliance, and regulatory legal matters;
• A demonstrated record of interpreting and communicating the substance of complex law issues and the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision;
• Native level French language skills;
• Fluent English language skills in speaking and writing, especially good legal writing skills.
  A valid Swiss work permit or Swiss or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.

• Provide legal counsel to the company on Swiss and other EAME legal matters, including litigation matters;
• Assist with implementation of legal strategies and goals in line with company’s business objectives; researching complex legal issues and reviewing and drafting complex legal documents;
• Work with Caterpillar business units to draft, review and negotiate legal agreements; supplier, dealer, and customer requests; and to review related communications;
• Provide leadership, legal expertise, and counsel to Caterpillar business leaders at all levels;
• Be accountable to assess legal risk; and identify and contribute to resolution of legal issues with a broad band of risk exposure;
• Monitor new or changing Swiss and EU laws and maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
• Provide support on legal entity management and compliance issues related to Caterpillar’s Swiss and other EAME legal entities.
