Description

Microsoft currently has an immediate opportunity available with its Law Enforcement and National Security (LENS) team. The successful candidate will be highly organized, motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a global team. Once training has been fully completed, a new Attorney may work remotely up to 20% of the time in our hybrid environment. About the team LENS is part of the Microsoft Global Affairs organization within Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA). As part of Microsoft Global Affairs, the LENS team is responsible for balancing public safety and global trust in Microsoft through principled advocacy and compliance with law enforcement demands for data that respect the rule of law and our customers’ privacy. LENS provides this support for Microsoft’s online services such as Outlook.com, OneDrive, Xbox Live, Teams, M365, and Azure. Within the global LENS team, attorneys provide advice and guidance to the team responsible for responding to law enforcement demands for customer data. This job will include supporting operational decision making as well as the development and implementation of Microsoft’s efforts to promote the privacy interests of its customers while maintaining compliance with Microsoft’s legal obligations. Knowledge of local laws relating to data disclosure to law enforcement, collaboration across legal domains, and technical curiosity are keys to success.
