Senior Commercial Role | Strategic Projects, Commercial Contracts, Regulatory Change & Advisory | Brisbane

Container Exchange (COEX) is the government appointed organisation responsible for operating Queensland's Containers for Change scheme. Operating in a highly commercial and regulated environment, COEX has built a respected in-house legal team that partners closely with the business and plays an active role in strategic decision-making.

As the organisation continues to evolve, the business has created a new role for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer looking to broaden their practice and work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, advising on:

• Strategic commercial transactions and complex contracting;
• Customer & operator terms and bespoke commercial agreements;
• Regulatory change and business transformation initiatives;
• Customer and operator matters, including complaints, contractual breaches and remediation;
• Marketing, consumer law and intellectual property;
• Development of commercial frameworks and legal documentation; and
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the legal team.

We're looking for an experienced senior commercial lawyer (approximately 8+ years' PAE) with strong contracting experience, sound commercial judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across the business. Experience gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both will be considered.
