Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Corporate Tax Accountant to join our tax team. This role is responsible for managing compliance and reporting federal, state, and local tax obligations, including income, sales/use, excise, and property taxes. The ideal candidate will support tax planning, provision, audits, and process improvements to ensure compliance and optimize the company’s tax position. Key Responsibilities: Assist tax preparers in preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns Conduct tax research and analyze the impact of changing tax laws Maintain accurate tax workpapers and reconciliations of tax accounts Support federal and state tax audits and respond to information requests Prepare and file sales/use and excise tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate remittances across multiple jurisdictions Oversee personal property tax filings, including data gathering and assessments review Reconcile related general ledger accounts and assist with accruals for SALT liabilities Research taxability of new products/services and maintain tax matrices for sales/use compliance Maintain exemption certificates and support internal teams with SALT questions Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Diligent, Punctual and Ready to work! Understanding of federal and multistate tax laws Experience with sales/use, excise, or property tax compliance Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software (e.g., OneSource, Avalara, Vertex, Corptax) Experience with ASC 740 Familiarity with ERP systems Strong analytical, research, and communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required) 2+ years of experience in corporate tax (public accounting or industry) CPA certification or working toward CPA (preferred) Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 15 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. Ability to get in and out of the vehicle and walk up and down stairs during your shift. Must be able to stand, sit for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist.
