QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Schwing Bioset (leading manufacturer of dewatering pumps) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to oversee all aspects of manufacturing and production cost analysis and inventory control across company projects. This role is crucial in maintaining accuracy in cost reporting and collaborating with key departments to ensure accurate and timely cost data, standard costing, and variance reporting. This position is in-person (not eligible for hybrid or work from home).
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with Bill of Materials (BOMs), and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both financial and non-financial team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain a reliable cost accounting system to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
  • Produce and distribute daily production, variance, and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Review and analyze standard vs. actual costs; identify and explain project and part-level variances.
  • Update and ensure accuracy of standard costs and BOMs.
  • Provide actionable insights through data analysis to support business decisions.
  • Prepare and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer, product, and job.
  • Evaluate changes in product design, materials, or manufacturing processes for cost impact.
  • Collect and study data on raw materials, labor, and other activities to determine actual costs.
  • Monitor cost control measures to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including revenue/cost reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and other duties as assigned.
