WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant experience
  • University Degree or equivalent to any of the following, Quantity Surveying, Construction, and Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • Working towards professional accreditation (PQS, MRICS)
  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation of all classes of estimates from conceptual to pre-tender estimates for various types of projects
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in the application of the practices and procedures involved in the cost management role
  • Self-motivated with good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and ability to work to own initiatives.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail to produce quality work with good time management.
  • Eligible to work in Canada or pursuing a work permit.
  • Hold a valid drivers license.

Responsibilities
  • Use BTY’s measurement software to quantify materials and prepare cost estimates according to CIQS Rules of Measurement, ensuring accurate unit rates and pricing. Provide proactive cost management advice and support estimates with front-end cost reports.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on cost management reports, analyze cost-to-complete, and assess variances between estimate stages. Prepare change order reviews and lifecycle cost estimates.
  • Attend site inspections to assess work-in-place and cost-to-complete, ensuring clients fully understand the content of reports. Participate in meetings and presentations as needed.
  • Prepare estimates at various design stages, from conceptual to pre-tender, following CIQS elemental or divisional trade formats for mechanical and electrical components.
