We are looking to recruit a Cost Consultant with an MEP background who can provide full cycle cost management services for ongoing commissions and projects. You’ll be responsible for: Conducting feasibility studies, advising on procurement strategies and contract selection, writing and undertaking procurement reports. Applying the value management techniques at the outset of a project. Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan. Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed. Being a key interface with client, stakeholders and other consultants at all project stages. Handling of contractual frameworks and standard form of contract. Identifying and acting upon opportunities to improve cost management procedures, templates, products and hence improve the services provided to the clients. Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes. You’ll need to have: Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar role. (Preferred, not essential). Strong knowledge of MEP and sustainable technologies and experience working in multiple sectors. JCT/NEC form of contract experience. Cost planning, budgeting and estimating experience. Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration. Knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing. Strong understanding of industry best practice. Understanding of hot topic issues such as Sustainability, Social Value, Carbon Reduction impacting Public Sector. Capex V Opex Cost Analysis/ advice. A degree in quantity surveying/cost management/engineering or equivalent. Professional membership i.e. MRICS/RICS.
