You are an experienced Senior Cost Consultant with 8+ years experience, seeking your next step or are currently working in a similar role within a comparable environment. Job Description As a Senior Cost Consultant, you will be involved in: Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants & advise clients on financial and contractual risks. Mentoring and coaching junior staff Provide accurate cost estimates at all project phases, including feasibility studies, design, and construction. Lead the preparation of cost estimates & cost comparison exercises including preparing and checking quantity take-offs, accurately describing the project scope, conducting QA/QC and obtaining market related pricing. Benchmarking reports. Cost Reports. Unit rate analysis. Undertaking Value management. Support research related to construction market conditions throughout Canada, including analysis of official published data Develop and manage budgets while ensuring expenditure traceability. Reviewing commercial claims. Post-contract cost management including forecasting, change management, cost reconciliations, cost reporting Prepare and evaluate tender calls, and advise on contract awards. Conduct financial variance analyses and recommend corrective actions. Supervise and validate payments to contractors and suppliers. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in cost management A recognized university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject Membership of Relevant Professional Organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS); The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Reliability clearance with the Government of Canada or ability to obtain it.
