Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Controller to form part of our project team based at our Brisbane office, on a casual basis.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Project Services Manager, a key focus of your role will be to monitor, control and report current and forecast expenditures against approved man hour budgets to enable Project and Corporate Management to ensure that the final project costs are within the approved budget.
Projects are across a diverse range of industries including onshore and offshore oil and gas, chemicals, water infrastructure and future energy.

THE KEY OBJECTIVES FOR THIS ROLE ARE:

  • Prepare work breakdown structures for projects and studies
  • Develop project budgets in accordance with project estimate and the WBS
  • Monitor and control cost activities through all phases of a project’s lifecycle
  • Implement change control as per project processes
  • Prepare up to date cost reports showing approved budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts
  • Achieve and maintain effective and proactive communication with all stakeholders including Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Contracts and Finance teams
  • Promote the Wood stated core principles values of fairness, equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Set an example by modelling desired health and safety behaviours

  • Senior level with 10-15 years of experience for Engineering or EPC contractors
  • A relevant degree or diploma in Business or Engineering preferable
  • Advanced skills in the cost control processes of a multi-discipline EPCM and EPC project
  • Experience in cost management software
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel
  • Experience with PowerBi and Oracle would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of planning and scheduling
