ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an urgent requirement for a Senior Cost Controller to meet the needs of our APLNG project. We are seeking an 18 month – 2 year commitment from an experienced cost controller / cost engineer to be based in the Worley South Brisbane office. This is a contractor role. This role is considered a priority to our business and we are seeking strong applicants who have a focus on quality and delivery coupled with a flexible attitude to meet the varying needs of global projects. Problem solving skills and high attention to detail is crucial for success, as is extensive experience using SAP.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Review engineering budgets and staff plans by working with the project team
  • Track and review actual weekly labour costs and analyse data to ensure charges are within budget, and charges are correctly coded making adjustments if necessary
  • Work with project team to ensure they understand charging procedures
  • Develop and update labour budget graphs to monitor cost status
  • Take part in the change management process to develop and price out deviations and bring to closure
  • Update cost reports with approved change management changes
  • Support cost studies on as as-required basis
  • Maintain and update project cost database for all project costs
  • Take part in forecasting of all project costs
  • Analyse all information prepared and take action if required highlighting problem areas to the lead cost engineer
  • Assist with the preparation and compilation of monthly reports
  • Prepare all information required on a timely, accurate basis ensuring a quality output
  • Be able to explain all data presented
  • Be involved in the project, to understand the scope, current work status, future plans, etc
