Our rapidly growing Digital & Information Group is expanding, and we are seeking a Senior Digital Cost Intelligence Analyst that will be focused on financial performance and cost intelligence in the newly established Digital Programs Cost Intelligence team. The Digital & Information Group is responsible for digitally enabling Urban Utilities today while transforming our future capabilities to enhance digital services for our customers, community, and people. We drive Urban Utilities’ digital & data strategy, oversee the digital portfolio, and manage IT, OT, data, IoT, cyber security, infrastructure, system administration, network operations, and support services.
As a Senior Digital Cost Intelligence Analyst within our Digital Programs Cost Intelligence Team you will work closely with a dynamic team of professionals to influence decision-making, enhance operational efficiency and drive financial performance improvements. You will play a key role in providing cost assurance, analysing and implementing cost modelling and analytics and contribute to shaping innovative digital services that deliver meaningful value to our customers, community, and people.
Role Responsibilities:
- Analyse and review overall digital performance metrics, driving data-informed enhancements.
- Support digital programs and projects to develop cost estimates, budgets and forecasts.
- Undertake cost assurance reviews and ensure best practice cost estimation methodologies and tools are used to support strategic decision making.
- Develop and maintain cost models to support project and program planning and utilise data analytics to identify cost trends and opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings.
- Work closely with the wider Digital Programs team to educate and knowledge share to uplift financial acumen.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that align with our digital and data objectives, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
About you:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Data Analytics is required.
- Certifications: Relevant qualifications in cost management, project management (e.g., PMP, CCP), ITIL or similar would be highly advantageous
- Experience: Proven experience in cost management, estimating, and assurance within large and complex organisations, demonstrated experience in assisting with cost assurance activities and implementing cost controls, knowledge of cost estimation methodologies and tools. Experience in IT analysis, data analysis, reporting, and problem resolution would be advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills, with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

- Security Requirements: Security clearance/SOCI requirements may apply, depending on the role and responsibilities.
Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
