ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a CSA Cost Manager / Senior Cost Manager to join our growing team. You’ll be joining Soben at an exciting time, playing a key role in helping us achieve our ambitious growth targets. Supporting one of our key Construction clients in the region, you will be responsible for developing and implementing key procurement and commercial strategies across a range of projects in our business.
Ideally we’re looking for someone in Frankfurt or London, but we are also open to candidates in Paris or Berlin.

WE’RE ON A MISSION TO REWRITE THE RULES.

We’re a diverse team of professionals who consider our work a vocation, not just a job. This sense of purpose and affinity for what we do is what fuels our ambition, driving us to keep learning and seeking new challenges. Inclusion is at the heart of our company’s culture. We’re proud of our unique personality, and we know that our diverse team brings a wealth of perspectives that enrich our work.

We increase certainty in our clients’ investments through cost, schedule, risk, and project management. With a track record of successfully delivering major construction projects, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile. And we always deliver on our promises.
An obsessive commitment to excellence, and forensic attention to detail are the cornerstones of our culture. They’re how we help our clients deliver on time, on budget and with certainty, every time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cost planning and control for all CSA (civil, structural, architectural) packages across preconstruction and construction phases.
  • Prepare and update detailed cost estimates at each design milestone (30%, 60%, 90%, 100%) in line with AWS Global Bid Template (GBT).
  • Manage CSA-specific Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and ensure alignment with design documents, contractor inputs, and procurement strategies.
  • Provide CSA value engineering proposals, including cost-benefit analysis and implementation tracking.
  • Support GC RFQ stage with detailed CSA scope reviews, bid clarifications, and cost reconciliations across contractor submissions.
  • Conduct bid analysis reports comparing CSA elements between GC submissions and internal benchmarks; highlight risks, cost drivers, and deviations.
  • Ensure change order management for CSA scope, including review, negotiation, independent QS estimates, and recommendation letters.
  • Oversee monthly progress valuations, CSA-related Pay App reviews, and confirm accurate allocation of costs to scope and phase.
  • Support contingency spend tracking for CSA scope, validating contractor requests against contract terms and actual site conditions.
  • Lead CSA input into project status reports, cost dashboards, and senior stakeholder updates.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams to maintain cost control, mitigate risks, and ensure scope compliance.
  • Ensure CSA scope meets AWS standards, safety requirements, and integrates smoothly with MEP and IT infrastructure packages.
  • Contribute to final account closeout process for CSA trades, ensuring full documentation, reconciliations, and claim resolution.
