Senior Counsel Benefits: 401 (k) Group Health & Dental Plan Short-& Long-Term Disability Insurance Life & Voluntary Life Insurance Holiday & Vacation Pay Employee Assistance Program Overview and Purpose Provides expert legal guidance on complex matters, advising leadership, managing high-risk issues, drafting key documents, overseeing compliance, and often mentoring junior staff, acting as a strategic partner to balance legal requirements with business goals, handling everything from contracts and transactions (M&A, licensing) to litigation and regulatory changes Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance: Advise on global AI laws (EU AI Act, CCPA, GDPR, etc.) and build compliance frameworks. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks in AI development, deployment, and data use. Governance: Develop and maintain AI governance programs, policies, and risk assessment tools. Product & Engineering Support: Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Data Science) to guide AI/ML projects, LLMs, and data handling. Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate AI-related contractual clauses with vendors and partners. Policy & Strategy: Translate complex technical concepts into practical legal advice and contribute to legal strategy. Stakeholder Education: Educate internal teams on legal requirements and best practices. Required Skills & Experience Juris Doctor (JD) (or equivalent) and active bar membership. Experience (3-5+ years) in tech law, privacy, data governance, Intellectual Property, or regulatory matters. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
