Description

The Legal and Regulation Department at Oslo Børs provides business law assistance to other departments of Oslo Børs and other companies in the Euronext Group, is responsible for Oslo Børs’ compliance with the legislation governing such activities and contact with the authorities. The department is part of, and cooperates with, the Euronext Group’s other legal and regulation departments, which in total comprise over 50 employees. The working language is largely English.
The department may also, if necessary, carry out tasks that are normally the responsibility of other Oslo Børs departments. Since 2015, a representative from the Legal and Regulation Department has been a member of the Securities Act Commission (which has prepared a total of nine legislative reports, most recently NOU 2024: 16 - Amendments to the Securities Trading Act (MiFID II/MiFIR review). The entire department’s specialist expertise is used in this study work.

Join Euronext Oslo Børs’ Legal Department and play a key role in supporting our capital markets operations and regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Listing Support: Provide legal guidance on listing processes, with a focus on foreign company admissions.
  • Market Surveillance: Advise the Market Surveillance Department on investor conduct and issuer obligations.
  • Case Screening: Represent Legal in Oslo Børs’ interdisciplinary group for identifying potential regulatory cases.
  • Appeals Handling: Prepare cases for the NFSA Appeals Committee and serve as Secretary to Oslo Børs’ internal Appeals Committee, coordinating casework and drafting decisions.
  • Corporate Legal Work: Draft internal policies, agreements, and board documentation; act as Board Secretary.
  • Rulebook Development: Contribute to the drafting and updating of rules for members and listed issuers.
  • Corporate Transactions: Support M&A and other corporate law matters.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Engage with Norwegian and EEA authorities on capital market legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in law or cand.jur.
  • Relevant experience from law practice or the financial industry – two to five years
  • Expertise in key areas of stock exchange and securities law
  • Expertise in financial regulatory framework legislation
  • Very good written communication skills, in Norwegian and English
