Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo’s total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo’s employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Law experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Active State Bar membership or the equivalent in a country outside the United State

Responsibilities

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Counsel-Senior Assistant Vice President as part of the Consent Orders & Regulatory Execution team in the Chief Operating Office Legal Division. This attorney will provide legal support and advice on enterprise regulatory remediation and compliance activities and will serve as a trusted legal advisor and strategic partner to senior leaders in the supported functions.
The Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for delivering a consistent approach to business operations across Wells Fargo, strengthening the company’s risk and control infrastructure, and delivering effective and efficient enterprise services to employees and customers.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide objective and pragmatic advice regarding regulatory remediation issues across the enterprise
  • Collaborate within the department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with the best interests of Wells Fargo
  • Independently resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet deliverables
  • Identify and analyze complex legal issues, develop conclusions, and make recommendations for issue resolution
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal constituencies, including senior business leaders, Risk, and Compliance and Audit executives, as well as relevant external constituencies
  • Engage and influence stakeholders, internal partners and peers associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
  • Apply cross-disciplinary or specialty expertise proactively to manage the most complex legal and regulatory issues
  • Lead initiatives of varying scope and complexity
  • Identify and resolve issues which may impact multiple business lines or the enterprise as a whole
