JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Senior Counsel Technology role serves as legal counsel related to any matters in the technology space.

In this role you will:

  • Draft and negotiate agreements covering SaaS, cloud services, IT infrastructure and service agreements related to AI and Healthcare emerging technologies
  • Partner with product teams to develop of risk-mitigation processes and controls through “Privacy-by-Design” principles and implementation strategies in a clinical setting
  • Support data privacy compliance efforts based on a deep understanding of privacy laws and frameworks, such as HIPAA and CPRA
  • Assist in drafting privacy-related policies, guidelines and training
  • Support data science and privacy teams with data management related projects
  • Provide counsel and guidance to corporate constituents for enterprise technology initiatives
  • Act as the point of contact for the group for various functional areas that impact the company
  • Work with other, internal HCA legal groups to ensure consistency across the organization
  • Manage outside counsel

Qualifications you will need:

  • 10+ years of practicing attorney experience with at least 3 years in an in-house setting required
  • Cloud services, SaaS or software licensing experience required
  • Privacy experience required
  • CIPP/US preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Admitted to Tennessee bar or qualified to work in-house, or eligible to do so in Tennessee
  • Juris Doctorate from accredited law school
