JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for crew recruitment, planning, mobilization/demobilization, certifications, and other crew-related matters within the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in crew management in the offshore or marine-related industry.
  • Minimum GCE ‘O’ level or marine-related trade certificates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Mature disposition with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Fast learner with the ability to lead a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime and conduct ship visits when required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, and evaluate team members, including work allocation, workload monitoring, and quality assessment.
  • Source new seafarers and arrange interviews for senior officers with respective department heads.
  • Contact former seafarers for redeployment.
  • Verify seafarers’ certificates and arrange medical check-ups as per Charterer’s requirements.
  • Authenticate seafarers’ certificates with relevant authorities and apply for Flag State licenses.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel files for seafarers and monitor the expiry of their certificates and documents.
  • Update crew planning/rotation lists and crew lists.
  • Ensure prompt, effective, and cost-efficient crew changes.
  • Conduct, sign, and file crew appraisal assessments.
  • Liaise with crew agents and port agents for crew joining/repatriation, including flight bookings and visa applications.
  • Extend crew entry passes and ship landing passes with Singapore Immigration authorities.
  • Declare immigration clearances and outward port clearances.
  • Update crew articles, including sign-on/sign-off via the MPA Portal.
  • Apply for visas as required.
  • Update crew personal records and certifications in the crew management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Crewing/Agency.
