SUMMARY Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting Building Services management in overseeing the work of Custodians. As needed, works as a Custodian and maintains assigned buildings and grounds in a clean, sanitary and safe manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Custodial Worker will include but are not limited to the following: Assists Building Services management in inspecting agency facilities. Assigns, schedules and oversees work assignments of Custodians. Helps orient and train Custodian staff regarding their daily routine and general procedures and practices of department. Collects and removes trash from wastepaper baskets and garbage cans. Cleans bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, walls and mirrors and replenishes paper goods, soap, etc. Washes, strips and waxes floors. Vacuums, spot cleans, and shampoos carpeted areas. Washes and/or dusts walls, etc. Performs maintenance duties as requested. Cleans and washes windows. Installs light bulbs and cleans light fixtures. Helps move furniture and equipment. Helps with sweeping, raking and snow/ice removal from outdoor areas. Attends staff training on cleaning methods, sanitation, safety, hazard prevention, etc. Performs necessary paperwork as requested. Performs other related duties as requested. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Good interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with employees, co-workers, other departments, outside contacts, etc. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. Ability to learn to work and train on the operation of machinery and equipment such as floor machines, wet/dry vacuums, detergents, strippers, abrasives, all-purpose cleaner, germicides, disinfectants, solvents, etc. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. One year of prior cleaning experience preferred. COMPENSATION: $20.60/hour + Industry-Leading Benefits for all full-time employees.
