Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Cyber Network Engineer to join our team on-site in Chantilly, VA. The Sr. Cyber Network Engineer will drive the enhancement of network modeling for diverse hardware and virtual devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud-based SDN components. Analyze device features impacting access—such as ACLs, VRFs, VPNs, NAT, and routing protocols—and propose integration strategies for RedSeal. Collaborate with developers to implement these models as plugins, enabling new data streams and enriching RedSeal’s analytics capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR CYBER NETWORK ENGINEER:

  • 5+ years of experience with network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, TCP/IP, and network security principles.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-37, 800-137).
  • Proficient in scripting/programming (Python, Go, Java, JavaScript, Node.js).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and attention to detail.
  • Must hold or obtain IAT Level II+ certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required.
Responsibilities
  • Prioritize project requirements and coordinate across teams and customer levels.
  • Provide onboarding, updates, and troubleshooting support for cybersecurity tools.
  • Deliver responsive customer support via phone, email, and messaging platforms.
  • Identify workflow improvements based on customer needs and feedback.
  • Collaborate with engineers on troubleshooting and proof-of-concept network builds.
  • Perform system administration and Tier 3 support for cybersecurity applications.
  • Support installation, configuration, patching, and backup of security systems.
  • Assist with cybersecurity assessments and compliance documentation.
  • Resolve tool integration conflicts and recommend solutions.
  • Propose and help implement automation for repetitive tasks and metrics tracking.
  • Maintain and update project documentation.
  • Contribute to other project and organizational tasks as needed.
