The roleYou’ll be a senior technical contributor within the Security Engineering team, working across complex security challenges and helping shape engineering standards and solutions.

The role is hands-on, with a focus on technical depth, automation and solving complex problems, while also supporting and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

• What you'll doDesign, build, configure, test and deploy security controls across on-premises, cloud and SaaS environments
• Own and optimise assigned security platforms, including architecture, configuration, tuning, lifecycle and vendor management
• Design, review and govern network security policies, including firewall rules, segmentation and secure connectivity
• Apply scripting, workflow automation, APIs and DevOps-style practices to improve the efficiency, consistency and auditability of security engineering work
• Manage SIEM/log onboarding, tune detection use cases and alert logic, and support vulnerability remediation across technology teams
• Provide secondary/backup support for identity and access management (IDAM) and privileged access management (PAM)
• Share technical expertise and mentor other engineers, and contribute to architecture and governance forums

• What you'll bring6+ years' experience in security engineering, cloud/security platform engineering or infrastructure security, including handling complex, ambiguous problems independently
• Hands-on experience across four or more of: SASE/network security, firewall and network security policy, email security, EDR, SIEM/security monitoring, cloud/SaaS security, vulnerability remediation
• Experience with scripting, APIs or workflow automation (e.g. PowerShell, Python, Power Automate, Logic Apps)
• Ability to work effectively in a regulated environment, translating policy, risk and audit requirements into practical, evidenced engineering outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, confident engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
• Demonstrated experience mentoring or guiding other engineers
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent practical experience

• AdvantageousHands-on experience with platforms such as Netskope, Mimecast, CrowdStrike, or SIEM/vulnerability management tooling
• Experience securing Microsoft Azure and/or AWS environments
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AZ-500, SC-200, GSEC, CEH or OSCP
• Experience identifying practical automation or AI-enabled use cases for security engineering
