About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to provide expert guidance and hands-on support across our cloud and infrastructure environments, with a particular focus on Salesforce platforms and large-scale transformation projects.
In this pivotal role, you will assess, advise, and implement cyber security best practices and technical controls across the University’s cloud and infrastructure ecosystems. Working closely with delivery teams, enterprise architects, and the CISO, you will help ensure that security is embedded at every stage of project delivery — from design to deployment.
Key responsibilities

The IT Information Security team is tasked with helping the University to achieve compliance requirements and protect the University people, information, and systems from information security risks.
This is a fixed term role, ending June 2027 and will be based at Macquarie University, Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.

You are a proactive cyber security expert with deep technical knowledge, strong consulting capabilities, and a passion for enabling secure business outcomes. You thrive in fast-paced environments, balance attention to detail with delivery urgency, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
