Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Dairy Living Labs Manager to work nationally across the UK. Managing a field-based team, flexibility to travel is essential along with a valid UK driving licence.
This newly established role is funded by the UK-Dell project and is offered on a fixed term contract until December 2027. Working for AHDB, this role is responsible for the delivery of the Dairy Emissions Living Labs project (UK-DELL), which will test multiple carbon saving measures on commercial British dairy farms. The role holder will support the delivery of effective linkages with other members of the consortium, the wider supply chain as well as internal teams to ensure successful delivery of the project and value for levy payers.
We are looking for a proactive and skilled communicator with dairy farming industry experience who can also demonstrate detailed knowledge of the relevant dairy farming production system, GB and internationally. Additional experience leading and managing a team is key, along with efficient facilitation and delivering skills to incorporate our knowledge exchange activities.

Responsibilities:
- Lead focussed activities within the UK-DELL project, ensuring activity meets the defined project outputs
- Manage a team of field-based staff ensuring consistent quality delivery
- Provide operational and line management of the UK-DELL Knowledge Exchange project team and form part of the wider AHDB Dairy Engagement team
- Assist the Head of Dairy Living Labs with the management of the team and delivery of national project targets
- Monitor and report the KPIs for the project activity
- Oversee partnership working opportunities for the UK-DELL team to ensure efficiencies and sharing of best practice are delivered i.e. research institutes, agriculture technology centres
- Ensure the UK-DELL team is integrated across the wider AHDB engagement and research functions, contributing levy payer feedback to positively deliver the sector priorities
- Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of internal and external technical/research and associated stakeholders/professionals
- Deliver proactive feedback mechanisms of levy payer facing activity which feed into AHDB technical priorities and strategy
- Write and deliver knowledge exchange information to promote project, sector and AHDB products and services when appropriate
- Ensure UK-DELL team members establish and maintain contact with the industry through coordinating, leading, delivering and participating in meetings, events, open days and conferences as required
