Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced Senior Data & AI Specialist to join our team in India. This is a hybrid role, with preferred locations including Hyderabad, Bangalore, and PAN India, depending on business requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in SQL Server technologies and data platforms, along with strong technical leadership and operational support capabilities to drive high-quality delivery across client environments. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Key technical resource for customers, in SQL Server, Azure SQL offerings and Power BI. Build strong customer relationships and ensure deliveries align with customer projects and milestones. Gain access to expertise and support from Microsoft’s consulting practice and product groups Thrive by continually learning and growing professionally Perform assessment, Analyse problems, and provide recommendations. Maintain, extend accreditations and certifications, assist in developing best practices for key technologies and products to support technical team readiness Demonstrate strong communication skills; ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships, gain trust and respect for Microsoft. Engineers must also possess strong technical writing, presentation and training skills Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Broad knowledge of on-premises Microsoft products with deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server at level 300/400 Strong with SQL Server Core/Engine – Concepts, Architecture, Performance, High Availability (Failover Cluster, Availability Group), Migration/Upgrade, Security, Maintenance, Well versed with evolution of SQL server & enhancements with each version of SQL server, Hands on & practical experiences. Breadth skills on other components like Power BI & SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Azure (Data services). Exceptional Hands on & practical experiences working on Reactive scenarios. Troubleshooting skills on Performance, High Availability(Failover Cluster, Availability Group), Migration/Upgrade, SQL setup/patches, Security, Maintenance. Should be able to handle SQL Server Administration & Operational troubleshooting reactive scenarios as needed. On reactive scenarios should be able to drive clear action plans, follow up to closure. Experience in database design and support Experience with performing data analytics with the PowerBI platform Understanding of Microsoft’s Modern IT Architecture and Strategy PowerShell\Scripting experience Solid knowledge on performance tuning and database design, T-SQL language Experience in capacity planning, sizing SQL Server environments and high availability configurations Experience in SQL server migration Experience with the Azure SQL family of products, Azure SQL databases, Azure SQL Managed Instances and SQL server on Azure VMs Azure, basic knowledge of: IaaS platform Governance Azure SQL Second skill set (Or have other 2nd skills. Such as: Azure/AI, etc.) Deploy, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online/Server, ensuring optimal performance. Design and implement document management, workflow automation, and collaboration solutions (e.g., Teams integration). Develop custom solutions (Power Apps/Power Automate/SPFx) or migrate legacy systems. Manage user permissions, security policies, and compliance requirements (e.g., data classification, audit logs). Troubleshoot issues and provide end-user training/support. Monitor system performance and availability using monitoring tools, and analyze logs to identify potential issues. going technologies and trends in SharePoint Server infrastructure. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SharePoint with other systems (e.g., Azure AD, SQL) Mandatory Soft/Other Skills: Self-reliant and strong team player, working in a fast-paced environment where technology and customers' requirements can change regularly Proven track record in successfully planning, deploying, operating, and optimizing on-premises and cloud environments Proven track record of building relationships with senior IT and business decision makers.Experience and developed skills in facilitating workshops, training and chalk-talk sessions with customers, communicating deeply technical concepts to varied audiences. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Ability to explain complex topics in ways that can be understood by technical and business decision makers.
