The Rakuten AI & Data Division (AIDD), creates powerful, customer-focused search, recommendation, data science, advertising, marketing, price, and inventory optimization solutions to a variety of businesses in commerce, fintech and mobile industries. As part of AIDD, Analytics & Metrics Department (AMD) is a centralized data analytics team which supports the data analytics and user behaviour analysis of key AI-driven products including search, recommendation, advertising and other GenAI application. The team derive insights from data and work with business to make informed decisions. Be it providing personalized superior user experience to our customers or making informed business decisions, data plays a vital role underlying all AI-driven initiatives. We are looking for a data analyst to work on collecting, processing, and performing statistical analyses on large datasets to discover useful information, suggest conclusions, and support decision-making. This role provides insights to fuel business growth and enhance customer experience. Responsibilities Data Exploration and Analysis: Leverage statistical tools and techniques to thoroughly explore and analyze datasets, identify key patterns, relationships, and trends that drive business growth and improve user experience. Data Cleaning and Preparation: Ensure data quality and relevance by filtering data, handling missing values, and meticulously preparing datasets for analysis. Data Visualization: Develop compelling visual representations of data insights, including charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards, to effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences. Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations that clearly articulate data insights and findings to stakeholders, influencing data-driven decision-making processes. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to understand their data requirements and provide actionable insights that empower informed decision-making across the organization. QUALIFICATIONS Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role within the Tech (e-commerce search/ads/AI is preferred) industry with demonstration of increasing levels of responsibilities. Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Expert proficiency in statistical analysis tools and programming languages, including Python and SQL. Proven ability to lead data exploration, analysis, and visualization efforts, with a strong track record of extracting actionable insights from large and complex datasets. Experience with data cleaning and preparation techniques and familiarity with database management systems. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team. Highly effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights clearly to diverse audiences, contributing to a data-driven environment within the organization.
