BASIC FUNCTION: Leads the design and evolution of the eQM platform's data architecture, ensuring alignment with FHIR/CQL standards, interoperability requirements, and VA enterprise architecture guidelines. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Director of Analytic Resources ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and maintain the target-state FHIR/CQL-compliant architecture for the eQM platform * Lead data modeling efforts for CDW integration, Oracle Health transition, and HIE connectivity * Define data governance frameworks, including metadata management and data quality standards * Architect RESTful APIs and integration patterns for VA enterprise systems * Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies (Azure Databricks, Spark, etc.) for platform enhancement * Lead technical design reviews and architecture documentation * Collaborate with VA enterprise architects to ensure alignment with One-VA TRM * Design data ingestion pipelines supporting multiple source systems (VistA, Oracle Health, CDW, HIEs) * Establish data lineage and traceability frameworks * Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A SKILLS / PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: * Expert knowledge of FHIR, HL7 standards, and health data interoperability frameworks * Experience with Azure cloud architecture (Azure Fabric/Synapse, Databricks, Event Hub) * Proven track record designing large-scale data integration solutions * Understanding of USCDI, TEFCA, and healthcare quality measurement standards * Experience with both relational and distributed data architectures MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED: Master’s degree from accredited college or university in computer science, data science, information technology, information systems, data management or a related quantitative discipline. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: AT LEAST 10 YEARS OF DATA ARCHITECTURE EXPERIENCE IN HEALTHCARE OR GOVERNMENT SECTORS.
