ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Significant experience installing and testing copper and fibre cabling, ideally within data centres or similarly complex environments
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety procedures in construction or technical environments
  • Full driving licence, own transport, and flexibility to travel between project sites
  • Must have a current Safe Pass or be willing to get one before commencing employment
  • Certification in Working at Heights, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP) or Hoist Operator training are an advantage but not essential.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Senior Cabling Technician, you will lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of Cat6/Cat6A and fibre optic cabling systems across a range of operational settings. This role involves taking responsibility for on-site coordination, mentoring less experienced technicians, and ensuring that work is delivered to a consistently high standard. A strong working knowledge of network infrastructure, combined with a proactive and organised approach, is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead installation and testing of Cat6, Cat6A, and/or fibre optic cabling across a variety of environments
  • Interpret technical drawings and method statements to plan and execute work effectively
  • Act as a point of contact for Chargehands and Foremen
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards and site protocols
  • Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring quality and consistency in their work
