Job Summary A highly skilled specialist performs facility and infrastructure maintenance especially for mechanical systems, site administration and incident support. Focus is on tasks requiring highly skilled and independent judgement, while contributing to the development of new concepts and techniques for standard operating procedures. Responsibilities Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance Responsible to ensure the functioning, upkeep, maintenance and preventive maintenance of mechanical system (HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers,etc.) Resolves advanced incidents and develops new procedures and techniques to support the overall team Resolves a BMS alarms for complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve Leads and coordinates critical infrastructure operations Develops project scope with management for life-cycle maintenance/end of life infrastructure projects and critical replacements Customer Service Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner Respond to emergency calls (24x7 hrs) Produce monthly executive reports to clients Site Administration & Incident Support Performs difficult site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendations Responds to on-site incidents, including failures, problems and delays Uses substantial understanding in following operating procedures to support on-site administration Collaboration Collaborates with others to resolve facility incidents Effectively collaborates within the department; may mentor team members on general maintenance activities Provides stakeholders of inventory needs in order to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment May recommend infrastructure projects Qualifications Qualified Diploma/Degree Level in echanical with a minimum of 7 years direct industry experience. Preference is given to data centre, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant experience An excellent understanding and experience of the general facilities management and maintenance regime Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate intelligently and effectively with the client and with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on the data centre systems Computer literate with the ability to compile and submit monthly and annual reports, and to monitor and trend operational characteristics (load, capacity, environmental conditions etc) Strong and committed team player with excellent communication and coaching skills Willingness to work outside of normal hours to resolve technical issues in a 24/7 industry The ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and development programmes aimed at ensuring that any identified knowledge or experience deficiencies are addressed in the short term Equinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
