Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Center Field Technician for a part-time role focused on delivering hands-on technical support in data center environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hardware, software, and networking systems, and will be responsible for executing critical operational tasks including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory control. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical acumen and excellent customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a data center or technical support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with server, storage, and networking hardware.
  • Proficient in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Capable of producing clear technical documentation and reports.
  • Willingness to travel regionally or globally on short notice.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends if required.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Familiarity with data center safety and operational standards.
  • Availability after standard office hours and on weekends is highly preferred.
  • Per hour $20 - $35, depends qualification.
Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support for data center hardware and infrastructure.
  • Perform core data center operations:Rack and stack servers and appliancesSet up cabling and connectivityDeploy and decommission hardwareManage inventory (scanning, reconciliation)Troubleshoot offline or downed serversHandle inbound and outbound shipping tickets
  • Support network operations and assist in incident response for L1 and L2 issues.
  • Execute hardware/software installations and break/fix tasks.
  • Escalate complex issues and contribute to resolution planning.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely service.
  • Document procedures, incidents, and resolutions accurately.
  • Participate in scheduled shifts or on-call rotations as needed.
