We are seeking a full-time Senior Data Centre Architect with extensive experience with data centre projects to join our architectural team working on major projects from our Toronto office.

We’re seeking someone who is a great teammate and passionate about Architecture and delivering projects that craft a better world.

  • Completed a professional degree program in architecture (i.e., M.Arch. or B.Arch or equivalent experience) from an accredited school of architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years post-graduate experience.
  • Licensed or working towards professional licensure as an Architect with a Canadian Architectural Association (i.e., OAA, OAQ).
  • You must submit a Portfolio to be considered for this position

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Data Centre design and construction, from conducting site due-diligence and feasibility studies to being responsible for the detailed design and execution of projects.

  • Delivers comprehensive design services and creative/innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements from concept to project handover.
  • Design management and delivery of large, technical projects with experience in all work stages (phases) and design processes.
  • Delivers work with commercial awareness and good commercial field.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision with an ability to work on a variety of projects or multiple tasks flexibly/concurrently.
  • Collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams to produce fully coordinated project information/work - including BIM models, drawings, schedules, andspecifications.
  • Proficient in project-related correspondence, client communication/presentations, and the production of technical reports.
  • Team building and leading non-project activities and initiatives that support the work, processes, and growth of the team.
  • Develop client relationships around project and non-project related activities.
  • Experience initiating opportunities for internal and external activities that develop the Team’s profile and visibility in the industry.
  • Work winning capability and experience.
  • Contributes to lasting positive change for Arup, clients, collaborators, and the communities we work in.
  • Understands and applies project standards and processes.
  • Validated experience in using Autodesk Revit software.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Building Code, Ontario Building Code, and International Building Code.
  • Experience with LEED and delivering sustainable buildings would be an asset.
  • Project Management experience or certification would be an asset
