Where Cloud lives and AI thrives. Job Description Due to internal movements, we are currently looking for a passionate Senior Data Centre Technician to join our Artarmon facilities team. The purpose of this role is to support the Services Manager with the day-to-day operations of the data centre by providing high quality & efficient technical maintenance and customer service. This role will also be the lead in SME for the team of Data Centre Technicians and be required to participate in an on-call roster. This is a fixed-term role What you’ll do: Excellent customer communication skills with a proven ability to handle customer escalations Assess all areas of risk from OH&S, security, to facility technical and critical system operations, policy and procedures to ensure customer services and business operations operate within a risk profile approved by the NEXTDC executive leadership team Provide an integration/coordination point into NEXTDC Facilities, for infrastructure supporting critical support systems, Power monitoring and Rack locking, Temp and Humidity monitoring Assist with customer deliveries handling of equipment and any assembly as required Work with members of the Facility and Business Framework teams to challenge, develop and deliver workflows, process, policy and procedures for all aspects of facility and system operations. Monitor all critical systems through Building Management Systems, diagnose upon failure critical systems and escalate as required Participate in Facility Management related tasks where required Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role in a colocation facility or data centre Experience in the use of test equipment to determine signal strength and traffic direction to diagnose communication quality and faults OTDR competency to measure loss over network links Experience with installations, troubleshooting and maintaining all fibre optic for customers Electrical/Telecommunications experience and qualifications Experience using a Building Management System and able to identify various critical systems Additional Information Seize this exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s fastest growing companies and play a key contributing role in the future of AI and the digital economy Join an inclusive, diverse and values-driven working culture Great opportunities to progress within our company (grow as we grow) Our mission is to continue building a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents the communities in which we operate.
