We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build data-driven products and to guide a scalable and future-proof data backbone for our data science and analytics projects. The Senior Data Engineer takes a leading role in elevating our clients' data architecture, data handling, and data automation capabilities. Additionally, you will apply your technical leadership, experience, and vision to realize robust, efficient, and reusable data solutions and bring colleagues along in this process.

We are looking for someone who:

• Takes the lead in designing, building, and monitoring reusable data models and data architectures.
• Develops complex data pipelines, including ETL/ELT processes
• Designs and optimizes data lakes and data warehouses.
• Operationalizes analysis methods and data science solutions and translates them into production-ready applications.
• Designs, sets up, and manages the necessary cloud infrastructure, including attention to performance, security, and scalability.
• Has experience working in a commercially oriented and/or consulting organization and can advise clients at a strategic and technical level.
• I enjoy working in a team setting with colleagues of diverse skills and actively contributing to knowledge sharing and coaching.
• Feels at home in an environment with highly motivated people who focus on delivering the highest quality to customers.

What to bring:

• Has completed a BSc or MSc in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
• Has at least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable senior data/engineering role, and from an advisory or consultancy role
• Speaks and writes fluent Dutch and English.
• Has in-depth knowledge of SQL, Python, and data processing frameworks such as PySpark or Pandas.
• Has extensive experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
• Has experience designing and building scalable data architectures (e.g. data lakes and data warehouses).
• Is familiar with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and associated DevOps/CI-CD processes.
• can justify technical choices to stakeholders and customers.
• Enjoys taking on a coaching and leading role towards junior and mid-level colleagues.
