Job Summary:
Data Engineer will have input to design, develop, implement and maintain data infrastructures and ETL logic. Focus on building solutions that have an immediate impact on tackling meaningful business problems. Data Engineer will apply extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills and practices to configure and secure various platforms and components. Develop automated processes to enrich and normalize different data sets. Evolve data connectivity and provide insights into data transformation while ensuring data is accessible, secure, and reliable. The ideal candidate will partner with business stake holders on projects to bridge the gap between business and technology by delivering best in class business intelligence solutions that provide insights to various leaders.
Key Responsibilities:

Designing and implementing data infrastructure and ETL automation:

  • Design, implement and maintain systems that collect, store and process data within the organization, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts, Databricks, ADFS, Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of Databricks administration, security, maintenance and performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of Database administration, security, maintenance and performance tuning of Oracle, MSSQL, SQL pools.
  • Implement data qualities processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security, including data governance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to bridge the gap between business goals and technical implementation, ensuring that solutions supports data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong experience implementing and maintaining SDLC, CI/CD processes.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications and development standards.
  • Lead development of assets supporting scalable analytic approaches capable of being leveraged by data scientists and analysts
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and gain a deeper understanding of the business.

Technical Documentation:

  • Creates and maintains the technical documentation for all technical development and for all design aspects to provide support to solution development, solution support and solution testing teams for enterprise solutions

Support:

  • Identify, troubleshoot and resolve complex defects or incidents including escalation to Vendors.
  • Ability to navigate various operating systems, IaaS’s, PaaS’s, and SaaS’s to identify problem and provide short term and long-term solutions.
  • Identify the opportunity to automate processes to reduce manual intervention.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • 6-8 years’ experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Engineer or integration engineer, software developer
  • 2+ more years of related work experience as a Data Engineer leveraging Databricks preferrable.
  • Proven ability to optimize ETL jobs and spark processes for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Experience tunning cluster configurations, parallelism, and caching to improve job runtimes and resource utilization.
  • Service-oriented self-starter that can work independently and prioritize workload
  • Ability to take ownership and follow through on all tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods or Beverage alcohol industry experience an asset.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Databricks, Data Lakehouse technologies, PowerBI, SQL, TSQL, Python, Powershell, java script.
  • Strong understanding in the application of predictive modeling and machine learning techniques
  • Databricks Certifications ideal.

Compensation: Budgeted Range – $89,028.00 – $115,213.00
The budgeted range considers several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
