SENIOR DATA ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Amazon QuickSight).
  • 8+ years in data engineering (ETL, data transformation, automation).
  • Strong background in AWS services and console navigation.
  • Python and Terraform for automation.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret AWS billing and usage data.
Responsibilities
  • AWS Cost Optimization & FinOps Analysis
    o Analyze AWS spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    o Work with AWS Cost Intelligence Dashboards to customize and extend their functionality.

o Interpret AWS billing and usage reports to provide actionable insights.

  • Business Intelligence (BI) Development & Dashboarding

    • Develop, maintain, and enhance BI dashboards in Amazon QuickSight (and potentially Power BI, Tableau).
  • Create new dashboards (50%) and maintain/improve existing dashboards (50%).
  • Generate reports and data visualizations to support FinOps decision-making.
  • Data Engineering & Automation


    • Work with AWS services to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data.

    • Use Python and Terraform to automate data pipelines, infrastructure, and reporting processes.
    • AWS Platform & Console Navigation


      • Navigate AWS environments and services effectively.

      • Leverage AWS tools for data ingestion, storage, and analysis.
      • Collaboration & Communication


        • Work closely with FinOps teams, finance stakeholders, and cloud engineering teams.

        • Communicate insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
        • Report directly to leadership and contribute to team growth and best practices.
