Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Data Engineer to help drive our data and analytics capability forward.
This is your chance to step into a technical leadership role where your expertise will directly support the reliability, performance, and scalability of Curtin’s data platforms. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will independently design, develop, and maintain cutting-edge data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes, and mentor junior engineers to foster a high-performing, collaborative team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independently lead design and implementation of robust, high-performing data solutions.
  • Manage and enhance enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Turn uncertainty into potential by approaching challenges with proactive and innovative solutions.
  • Embrace challenge as a catalyst for creative action and growth.
  • Provide expert technical guidance across university-wide ICT projects.
  • Ensure data solutions are secure, reliable, and aligned with best practices.
  • Support service continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered
