Description
Duties and responsibilities include: Work independently to provide solutions and leverage technical experience to align partners to optimal path for delivery. Partner with team to craft, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL systems for the data lake. Implement ETL/ELT processes using Apache Spark, Python to process structured and unstructured data. Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Manage AWS Lake Formation permissions, ensuring role-based access control (RBAC) for data security and governance. Perform data validation to ensure data quality and reliability. Work with BI architect and Data Engineering Lead to build technical requirements and specifications for Business Intelligence products. Identify and fix data pipeline Production issues. Build clear documentation of procedures and protocols. Implement data governance, data security and privacy policies while collaborating multi-functionally with technical and non-technical team members. Support and drive new skillset understanding of junior team members, mentoring as needed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: A bachelors degree (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) in information science & engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Experience: Five years of experience in a data science/engineering-related occupation. SKILLS/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Experience must include the following: 1. Five years of experience working with: Python; PySpark; database design; SOLID design principles, patterns practices; reliability; performance; scale; security; TDD; MDD; REST; OAuth; and SQL queries. 2. Five years of experience working with advanced data structures and algorithms. 3. Five years of experience working in data engineering with a focus on big data processing and cloud technologies. 4. Four years of experience working with AWS services, such as S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda, Athena, AppFlow, Step Functions, or IAM. 5. Two years of experience working with Terraform for infrastructure automation (writing and managing Terraform modules). 6. Two years of experience working with AWS Lake Formation, such as setting up data lake permissions, resource linking, or access control policies. Experience may be gained concurrently. Basic pay is one hundred fifty-one thousand nine hundred eighty-six dollars to one hundred seventy-four thousand one hundred dollars annually for full-time employment and standard company benefits.
