We are looking for an experienced Senior Big Data Engineer in the Atlanta area who will act as a team lead for a distributed engineering team based in Eastern Europe, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related fiel
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and storage within an Azure/Snowflake-based analytics platform.
  • Act as the onsite senior engineer for a distributed engineering team based in Eastern Europe, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders and senior leadership, ensuring alignment between business objectives and data engineering deliverables.
  • Drive data modeling, master data management, and metadata management best practices to enhance data consistency and governance.
  • Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions using Spark, Python, and SQL.
  • Design and optimize data warehouse solutions, including schema design and performance tuning in Snowflake and Azure DW.
  • Ensure Agile delivery excellence, participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across teams, ensuring clear communication, effective collaboration, and issue resolution.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and performance optimization.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and data engineering trends, fostering innovation within the team.
