POSITION SUMMARY

This position is the primary technical leader and developer for HFMA’s data warehouse/lakehouse/analytics solutions. Key responsibilities include designing, implementing and operating the HFMA data aggregation environments to ensure that data and analyses meet the needs of internal stakeholders for data informed operational and strategic purposes. This role is familiar with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Database Administrator, with expertise in database design, administration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar for developing reports and dashboards.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and optimize database performance.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes for data integration and transformation.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.
• Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and implement complex solutions to meet business requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Data Modeling and Design:
• Design and implement data models to support business requirements and reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain data dictionaries and data standards.
• Data Lake Architecture:
• Assist with design and implementation of a modern data environment solution to meet the needs of internal stakeholders.
• Lead the effort to migrate data and analysis products from legacy solutions to the modernized solution.
• Development and maintenance of data environments:
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to create appropriate data stores for specific purposes.
• Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the ETL process.
• Define and implement monitoring and maintenance appropriate to ensure data environments are secure, available and trustworthy.
• Business Intelligence (BI) Development:
• Develop and maintain BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau or similar.
• Performance Tuning and Optimization:
• Assist with identify and make recommendations on performance bottlenecks in databases, ETL processes, and BI solutions.
• Recommend best practices for database and BI performance tuning and optimization.
• Data Security and Compliance:
• Implement and maintain data security policies, access controls, and encryption mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Documentation and Best Practices:
• Maintain documentation of system configurations, processes, and best practices.
