  • Working with analysts and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate these into practical data engineering solutions.
  • Supporting the development of methods to monitor and improve data quality across source systems.
  • Managing changes to existing data routines in line with change control processes.
  • Liaising with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate delivery progress, risks and the impact of change.
  • Working with data privacy and information security teams to ensure solutions meet security and privacy requirements.
  • Supporting agile delivery practices across the data engineering community.

Essential Experience:

  • Delivering data analysis, data engineering or reporting projects.
  • Designing data solutions that support end-user reporting and business insight.
  • T-SQL development using tools such as SQL Server Management Studio, Azure Data Studio or Azure Synapse.
  • Cloud-based data integration and analytics platforms, ideally Azure Synapse Analytics or similar.
  • Data modelling, database design and working with complex datasets.
  • Data profiling, data quality analysis and source system investigation.
  • Using data engineering or analysis tools such as Advanced Excel, MS Access, SAP Business Objects, Python, R or VBA.
  • Eliciting user requirements and communicating technical information clearly to colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders.
