Join Symrise as a Senior Data Engineer in Singapore and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data landscape. You’ll be instrumental in building a modern, scalable data platform on Azure Databricks, with strong support from our executive leadership. As part of our dynamic Data & AI team, you’ll collaborate within Agile Scrum teams, utilizing methodologies like daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos, and deploying solutions through GitHub CI/CD pipelines. You’ll be at the forefront of developing robust ETL processes, constructing unified cross-functional data assets, and creating data-driven products that power advanced analytics, AI applications (including exciting projects like Philyra and Symvision AI ), IoT solutions, RPA workflows, and cloud-based platforms. This role offers a unique opportunity to bridge business expertise from our Sensory and Consumer domains with our global Data Engineering practice, fostering innovation and driving tangible business value.The Position:

  • Design, build, and manage robust data pipelines and data products to support analytics, reporting, data collection, and web applications
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including data scientists, analysts, product owners, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, define roadmaps, and deliver impactful data solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality by implementing data quality controls and monitoring mechanisms
  • Contribute to the development of our Unified Cross-Functional Data Assets, working with key domains like Consumer, Samples, Research & Technology, Innovation, Procurement, and Sustainability
  • Actively participate in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and user story prioritization to deployment and operation

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, data science, or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on skills in Azure Databricks, Python and SQL, with proven experience in developing ETL pipelines, data models, and optimizing Apache Spark workloads. A solid understanding of concepts like shuffle, spill, and broadcast joins is highly desirable
  • A curious, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving, with a strong desire to grow into a senior engineering role and contribute to cutting-edge projects
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in cross-functional environments and work effectively with both local and global teamsA passion for staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, DataOps and automated testing
