Shape the future of data at Westpac as a Senior Data Engineer What’s the role? You’ll join our Data Engineering team where you’ll help shape the future of how data is designed, built and transformed across the UNITE program. You’ll work closely with product owners, program managers, architects and business partners to turn ideas into scalable data products that genuinely make a difference. You’ll design and develop pipelines using Python, SQL, Azure Synapse and Informatica and you’ll experiment with agentic AI to automate the tasks that slow teams down. You’ll explore new ways to boost productivity across the data lifecycle, including deploying autonomous AI agents that can generate code, metadata and testing artefacts. This is a full time hybrid role based in either Gold Coast or Sydney Warrane, Gadigal Country with three days each week in the office. What do I need? • Strong experience building data pipelines using Python and SQL • Ability to work with big data tools including Spark and Kafka • Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Services, Azure Event Hubs, Azure Cosmos DB, Snowflake and Teradata • Interest in using AI driven tools to automate design, development and testing Why join us?
